Gail has always said, “I’ve waited my entire adult life to focus on my art,” and since May of 2019, she has done just that. When Gail decided against a major in art in college, she didn’t realize that she’d have little time to create art after teaching all day and raising kids.  Her excitement is contagious when she talks about the joy of creating, increasing skills in the media she’s familiar with and challenging herself to find new ways of expressing herself. Gail is predominantly an abstract artist and has a special affinity for abstract landscapes.  All of her work is about color and movement. Collage has always been a favorite medium and Gail has enjoyed using her own printed papers to add to the collages.  In addition to “wall art,” Gail produces journals that are covered with her printed papers and makes needle felted and embellished pins.

Gail is a second generation Washingtonian and artist and has lived in Gaithersburg since 1975. After a 44-year career in teaching, it was time for her to start developing herself as an artist.  Gail participates in a weekly abstract painting studio group in Frederick and is involved in the art community in Frederick and Montgomery Counties.

Gail's work has been shown at the Kentlands and Glenview Mansions, Delaplaine Arts Center, Yellow Barn, and Blackrock Center for the Arts, to name a few.  She is on the board of the Gaithersburg Fine Arts Association and also is an active member of the Art League of Germantown, Gaithersburg Artists Collective (Artists on Market gallery), Rockville Art League  and the International Society of Experimental Artists (Signature Member).
